BEST BRUNCH RECIPES
Hosting a brunch can be so much fun! I really enjoy brunch recipes because you get to serve a bit of breakfast and a bit of lunch. We put together some of our favorite brunch recipes to make it easy for you, along with some inexpensive decorating tips!
When I host a brunch, I like to include foods that are easy to prepare and easy to serve individually. I always set food out so people can serve themselves and I want it to be easy for them to access. Any food that needs to be cut up, I go ahead and cut it in to individual servings. For example, I’ll cut up any cakes, casseroles, breads, etc.
Brunch Recipes
One thing we always serve is a coffee cake. Coffee cakes are easy to make (most can be made the day before) and they are always a hit. I like to pick out my coffee cake recipes depending on the time of year I am hosting my brunch. For a summer brunch, I love to make this Peach Coffee Cake or Cherry Coffee Cake. In the late summer, when the blackberries are in season, it’s this Blackberry Coffee Cake that will make an appearance.
If you’re planning on hosting a Fall brunch, you can’t go wrong with this Spicy Pumpkin Coffee Cake.
This Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake is perfect for any time of the year.
I know a lot of people that host Christmas Brunches. This Cranberry Coffee Cake is the perfect brunch recipe.
Some of my favorite brunch recipes are breakfast casseroles. They are easy to put together and they make a lot which is perfect when you’re feeding a group. This Hashbrown and Sausage Breakfast casserole can be made the night before which is always a plus. Of course, in the South we love grits, so I like to make this Sausage, Tomato and Grits casserole. One thing that people love for breakfast is pancakes. However, there is nothing worse than standing in the kitchen all morning flipping pancakes while your guest mingle without you. So if you want to serve pancakes, serve this Maple Pecan Pancake Bake.
It is basically a big pancake that you can cut up in squares and serve with warm syrup. It’s so easy and one of my favorite brunch recipes! You can also make this fabulous French Toast Casserole.
Muffins and biscuits are a definite go-to when I’m planning a brunch. They can be super easy to make and even easier to display. Grab you favorite basket, throw a pretty cloth napkin or dishtowel in the bottom and toss in your bread. Place your jellies, jams and butters close by and your done! Like I said, choose recipes that are easy to serve. I like to make several different types of muffins and biscuits, variety is always nice. These Ham and Cheddar Muffins are great.
These Bacon and Cheddar muffins are also good and you can never go wrong with these Sausage and Cheese Grit muffins. It’s always nice to have some fruit muffins on the table too. Especially if you’re hosting your brunch in the summer. These Lemon Raspberry muffins have the perfect amount of sweetness and they are very pretty with the glaze.
I also really like these Pineapple Blueberry muffins. They are easy to make because you make them out of canned cinnamon rolls. I’m all about easy when planning a party. These Bacon and Cheddar Scones is one of my all time favorite brunch recipes. My guest love them and I think they look beautiful on a table.
Of course I’m always going to have some sort of biscuit at a brunch I’m hosting. I love to make our 2 ingredient Whipped Cream Biscuits. They are so easy and they are perfect for little ham sandwiches, which I always have out on the table. I like to make my Crock Pot Ham, then slice it real thin and make up the little sandwiches to set out on a platter. I also set out just some plain biscuits so people can have them with jellies, jams, honey or butter. If you plan on making bacon for brunch, make it in your oven. It makes life so much easier. Here are directions on how to make your bacon in the oven.
I’m not sure you can have a list of brunch recipes and not include some quiches. I like this Ham, Apple and Cheese Quiche for brunch.
If you’re looking for a bacon quiche, this Cottage Cheese and Bacon Quiche is so unique and has fabulous reviews. Here is our Cheesy Sausage Quiche if you’re looking for a sausage quiche.
When I host a brunch I always include some lunch recipes. If I’m having a summer brunch, then I love to have some salad recipes. I’ll have our chicken salad and serve with some crackers or rolls so people can make some little sandwiches. This Watermelon and Tomato Salad is always popular with my guests.
I also love to serve a good Pasta Salad. You can find my favorites here.
Of course the standout for any gathering is the dessert and a Brunch should be no different. My most favorite cake is our Pound Cake. This is just a classy cake that really stands on it’s own. It is the perfect addition to any dessert table. Honestly, Pound Cake is such a traditional dessert that I feel it always has a place at my parties.
There are so many different types of Pound Cakes. You may love our Chocolate Pound Cake , it’s perfect for the chocolate lover. Coconut fans will love our Coconut Cream Cheese Pound Cake.
You also can’t go wrong with our Honey Bun Cake. My friends actually request that I make this cake for them. If you love a beautifully frosted cake that is always a hit, then you will want to impress your guests with this gorgeous Mandarin Orange Cake.
Don’t forget your beverages! You’ll definitely want to serve some coffee, sweet tea and some Old Fashioned Lemonade. You can also make some Irish Coffee and some Kentucky Mint Julep’s depending on what kind of brunch you are hosting.
Decorating your Brunch on a Budget
Remember when you are putting your brunch together that simple details add such a beautiful touch. Tea light candles placed around the table adds the perfect glow. Tea light candles are cheap and you can find them anywhere. You can even get them battery operated if you don’t feel comfortable with lit candles.
I use fresh flowers out of my flower beds at home and just put them in pretty jars/vases for centerpieces.
As long as the brunch isn’t too large, I always use real plates and cloth napkins. I believe it adds a personal element to the brunch.
If you make lemonade, place lemons around the pitcher to add some color to the table. Place all your jellies and jams in serving dishes, this also adds an additional color element and looks classy.
Entertaining doesn’t have to be expensive. Just add a few personal touches and you’re golden!
