SLOPPY JOES – Crock Pot or Stove Top

Sloppy Joes - The Southern Lady Cooks

Sloppy joes have always been a favorite with my family. This easy recipe for homemade sloppy joes can be made in the crock pot or on the stove top.  If you are in a hurry make them on top of the stove or if you want them to simmer to let the ingredients marry and come together put them in the crock pot for a few hours.  We like them in the crock pot because we think they are better that way.  Either way, they are good.  You could double or triple this recipe and keep it warm to serve right from the crock pot to guests.  This is great for gatherings, tailgating and having people over.  Just add some pickles and chips and you have a meal.  This can be reheated and keeps well refrigerated for several days.  You might also like our recipe for French dip sliders.

Great reviews on this easy dish:

“I just put this together on the crock pot for Supper tonight. I tasted it before it started simmering in the crock pot and it was delicious then.  I can’t wait for Supper now. So easy and so flavorful. Thank you for sharing!” – Tina

“Made these for supper last night and we all enjoyed them. Thank you for another yummy recipe!”-Karen

“Absolutely delicious! We’ve tried many Sloppy Joe’s, but this one is my husband’s favorite. It’s the perfect consistency and flavors. I’ve bookmarked this recipe to use for many more meals!” – Terri

“This recipe is so delicious and very easy. I really like how you can cook in crockpot or stove top. I use dried mixed onions in place of fresh onions because we aren’t an onion family and they go bad before I can get to them. A++++” -Teresa
