Crock pot chicken and gravy is easy and delicious.

Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

This crock pot chicken and gravy is such a great recipe for a busy weeknight meal.  Just throw it in the pot and let it cook.  This chicken is wonderful served over mashed potatoes, rice or any kind of pasta.  It is even good over biscuits.  You could cut this recipe in half and it keeps well for several days in the refrigerator.  It makes a lot but you can serve it over rice one night and mashed potatoes or biscuits the next. This dish goes great with cranberry sauce and stuffing. It would be wonderful for a holiday meal. It freezes well, too.  We love any kind of crock pot meal.  You might also like our recipe for crock pot beef tips and gravy.  These two recipes are definitely two of our favorite crock pot meals.

Crock pot chicken and gravy is one you will make often.

3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 (1.25 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup, undiluted

1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth

1 cup water

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning (our recipe for poultry seasoning if you want to make your own)

Add chicken breasts to the bottom of a three quart crock pot.  Whisk together onion soup mix, chicken soup, chicken broth, water, black pepper, flour, garlic powder and poultry seasoning in a bowl until all ingredients are well combined and mixture is smooth.  Pour over chicken breasts in crock pot.  Cook on low 6 to 7 hours or high 4 to 5 hours until chicken is done.  Removed chicken from pot,  shred with a fork and add back to the gravy.  Makes 6 to 8 large servings.  Enjoy!

Note:  I did not add salt to this recipe since the onion soup mix and the canned chicken soup both have salt.  You can add more if you like.
