These New Year’s Day food recipes are delicious and will keep the holiday tradition alive in your house! It has been a tradition to serve black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day in our family for many years. Serving black-eyed peas along with cabbage is supposed to bring you good luck and financial enrichment during the coming year!

Baked Black-Eyed Peas and Smoked Sausage-add turnip greens and cornbread and this is a very traditional southern New Year’s Day dinner.

Pork Chops and Cabbage Casserole-This is a perfect casserole for New Year’s Day. In the southern culture, pork is a traditional symbol of prosperity and is thought to bring good luck. A pig’s nature is to root forward and to not look back, encouraging us to do the same in the New Year!
