TSLCBlueberryPie

Blueberry Pie is definitely a favorite at my house. . This pie does not last much over a day whenever I make it for my family.  This pie is perfect for any family gathering, holiday or event.  An easy recipe and one you will make time and again.  Make two and give one to a friend. Blueberries are next to blackberries when it comes to my favorite fruits.  If I have them in the house I can’t leave them alone and they are good for you, too! 3/4 cup sour cream
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
1 egg, beaten
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell (I use Pillsbury frozen pie crust)

In a large bowl beat sour cream, flour, sugar, vanilla, salt, egg, lemon juice and cinnamon together with mixer.  Fold in blueberries and pour into pie crust.

TOPPING:

4 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

In a small bowl cut butter into flour.  I use a fork and just kind of mash it all up together.  Mix the nuts into the butter and flour.  Sprinkle over the pie before baking.  (See photo)

I have fixed this pie twice now. It is just wonderful. It got rave reviews both times and was devoured quickly. The last time I made it for a sick friend, who said that she thinks it is the best pie she ever had. That just made my day. The recipe is a keeper for sure.

  2. I tried this today with peaches instead of blueberries. It came out really good. Thank You so much for the recipe!

  3. Made this pie this morning. Just had a piece topped with a little ice cream. Very good! I used a tsp of almond flavoring to replace one of the tsp of vanilla and almonds in place of the walnuts. I love almond and blueberry together. Thanks for the recipe it’s great!

  4. Love blueberry pie!! I had made the pie and had bought the frozen pie crust. If anybody uses the frozen pi crust as I did. The deep dish is needed because it will boil over. I am glad I had a cookie sheet under it. Other then that it was deliicious!!!

  5. Could just enjoy a slice of the delicious looking Blueberry Pie
Will have a go at making one

  6. I can see why this goes so fast. That picture of the slice is just pretty with the topping cracked, oh my!
