PUMPKIN ANGEL FOOD CAKE
This Pumpkin Angel Food Cake is one the easiest cakes you’ll ever make. Plus it’s so good! Your family and friends will think you spent hours in the kitchen on this amazing Pumpkin Angel Food Cake, when in reality its only 4 ingredients (without the icing) and super easy to make! This cake is perfect for when you are in a hurry and need something quick. We loved the taste of this cake and can’t wait to make it again.
Pumpkin Angel Food Cake Ingredients Needed:
Box of Angel Food Cake Mix – We use Betty Crocker
Libby’s 100% pure pumpkin
Chopped pecans (optional)
Pumpkin Pie Spice, we make our own.
You are NOT making the cake according to the cake mix.. you are making it the way we have instructed in the recipe card. You are only using the mix to make this cake. This cake mix is just that, a DRY cake mix, it doesn’t come with egg whites or anything extra. This is the ONLY cake mix we have ever used to make this recipe. We use a Betty Crocker cake mix. It’s only 4 simple things, the cake mix, pumpkin, chopped nuts and pumpkin pie spice. Don’t over complicate this recipe. I let the cake sit about 10 minutes in the pan before removing it.
“I can’t believe this cake is only 4 ingredients and so easy to make. It’s become my favorite fall dessert.” – Kate
“This cake is so simple and absolutely delicious! Definitely be making it again!” – Carol
“I made this yesterday and it is DELICIOUS and soooo easy! I even added 3/4 cup of semi-sweet Chocolate chips.” -Tenley
This cake is delicious without a frosting but you could easily add a cream cheese frosting or just a basic powdered sugar glaze.

I’ve made this several times but today I used a store brand Angel food mix and it did not rise and is heavy. Next time I’ll use a better brand
Hello I want to make this cake today for a party on the box of the angel food cake it says to add water do I use that or not? I’m not sure if I need to add the water. Help!
You do not follow the instructions on the cake mix box. So no, you wouldn’t use the water. This recipe is four ingredients. Thanks!
I make this every fall but for the Glaze I use apple cider or apple juice I stead of milk.
Angel cake is my favourite one! I usually do it with oranges. Pumpkin is not my favourite filling, but I might make it to diversify my fruit desserts.
Mine did not rise up in the pan at all, came out very short and dense…more like a pound cake…wondering what did I do wrong?
I don’t know, I have never had that issue.
good cake 1 2 3 and ready love it
I made into doughnuts and baked for 15 minutes at 350. Cooled and rolled in cinnamon and sugar.
Do you know how many WW points is this?
Sorry, I have never done WW.
This looks so easy, I see that you said you can use other pans, could you make cupcakes?
I don’t see why you couldnt, but you would have to adjust the baking time.
I tried it and the recipe made 22 cupcakes. Baked at 350 for 15 minutes!
I can’t believe this cake is only 4 ingredients and so easy to make. It’s become my favorite fall dessert.
This cake is so simple and absolutely delicious! Definitely be making it again!
Hi… I was thinking about using some of your ingredients in your Bourbon icing to make more of a glaze… Do you think that would be good? I have not made the cake yet so not sure of the taste…
I think that would be delicious! Please let me know how it turns out 🙂
What do I “spray” the pan with? Pam oil or the pam with the flour?? Thx
I just use regular pam spray or crisco spray, Tina.
Could you bake this in any other cake pan than a bundt one ?
Yes, I think it would work fine, I see lots of Angel Food Cakes made in other types of pans.
I’ve made it with Any can of pie filling– yummy!
Hi! Do you cool this in the bundt pan or turned upside down to cool, like a plain angel food cake?
We cooled it in the bundt pan, for about 10 minutes.
Can this be made with anything other than pumpkin?
I have made it with a can of pineapple before and it was really good. You can definitely give it a try.
Looks very tasty. Greetings Joe
I made this yesterday and it is DELICIOUS and soooo easy! I even added 3/4 cup of semi-sweet Chocolate chips.
Thank you so much Tenley! So happy you liked the recipe. Thank you for letting us know.
I have what may be viewed as a stupid question… I’m sorry I’m advance.
Do I make the cake like it says on the box then add the pumpkin and seasoning?
Hello Lynn, you add it with the cake mix. If you look at the picture on the entry you can see it all added with the dry ingredients of the cake. You are just using the cake mix, not what the cake box says to add. Enjoy!
wow this sounds soooooooo good
