This Orange Potato Salad is a Supper Club recipe and it was submitted by Tina Melendez from Lyons, IL. She called this “Grandma Til’s Orange Potato Salad” and as soon as we saw this one come through we had to try it. So glad we did because it is an excellent potato salad.
What makes this Orange Potato Salad so Unique?
We have quite a few potato salads on our website but when we saw this one it was just different. It is made with French Dressing which we had never done before. If you have followed our website for any amount of time, you know we love to try “family favorite” dishes and that is one of the reasons we started The Supper Club.
When we were reading over this recipe this was the memory that Tina submitted with it..
“My grandma always made this. She insisted on the Kraft dressing. One time my mom bought light mayo, and she swore it was ruined 🙂 Every time after that, she’d remind my mom ” no light mayo”.
We all laughed when we read that, because that is exactly something you would hear one of our grandmothers say. So we printed this one off and made it and it was so good! We will definitely make this one again and again and it’s the perfect addition to any potluck.
Simple ingredients that add a big punch:
- Small red potatoes, peeled and boiled
- Eggs, boiled
- Sweet pickles
- Pickle juice
- Kraft French dressing
As you can see the ingredients are very simple but the combination of the sweet pickles and the French dressing gives this potato salad a fantastic flavor!
Can you make this in advance?
This salad was just as good the next day so I see no reason why you couldn’t make it a day in advance. This was a big hit with my family so it didn’t last long. It would go fantastic with any of these dishes:

Orange Potato Salad
- 3 lbs small red potatoes peeled and boiled
- 6 eggs boiled
- 1 onion diced
- 3 sweet pickles diced
- 3 tbsp pickle juice
- 8 oz Kraft French dressing
- 1/2 small jar mayo
- Dice potatoes in squares
- Add onion, pickle, pickle juice
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Add 4 eggs, diced
- Add french dressing and stir until coated
- Add mayo and stir until well mixed
- Slice remaining 2 eggs over the top
- Sprinkle with paprika
- Cool in refrigerator before serving
