Is this spicy? My husband can’t really tolerate spicy. It sounds delicious though.
I wouldnt call it spicy but if you wanted to lower that, you could use canned diced tomatoes instead of rotels and you could use just a little chili powder or sprinkle in some taco seasoning.
what is the whipping cream in this recipe?
It is a cream you find in the grocery store. You can use heavy whipping cream or regular. Is that what you are asking?
Can this be made the day before and refrigerate overnight
I would think you could easily do that!
I made this DELICIOUS dish this past weekend! It DID NOT disappoint! I made absolutely no changes to the recipe. My hubby and I LOVED it!! This will definitely go in my FAVORITE DISHES recipe binder! 🙂
That’s wonderful! We’re thilled you and the hubby enjoyed it. Thank you for the kind comment!!
This recipe is easy and delicious. I use organic ground beef or ground bison. I have also made it with ground turkey sausage it doesn’t matter what meat you put it’s delicious I highly recommend.
It that heavy whipping cream or or whipped cream already whipped
It’s heavy whipping cream, not whipped cream. Thanks!
This recipe is delicious!!!!!! Thank you
2 thumbs up! My second favorite pasta recipe.
Well, this is a keeper! My son came back for seconds and said “This is a winner!” I said “Winner, winner Mexican dinner!” This will be in my monthly rotations.
Thank you!!
So glad it was such a hit!!!
I am unable to find the fiesta soup. Is there a substitute you could recommend?
Hi Kay,
You can use regular canned cheese soup or some melted queso for this dish. Hope that helps! Thanks!
Please do not exclude the cute Southern Lady silhouette with her hair tied up and her apron on and her recipe book and spoon in her hands! I know you are changing your logo, which I think is a terrible idea, but PLEASE don’t exclude her!!!!
Your font for The Southern Ladies Cook is quite nice, but without the cute Southern Lady silhouette it just doesn’t work. Is your mother still part of this? Or has she decided to retire, or perhaps semi-retire?
I love so many of the recipes! My father’s side of my family are from North Carolina and I spent 15 years (not long enough) in Tennessee, so these recipes are a God-send to me. Thank you so much for continuing your mothers’ legacy.
Hello Cheryl,
I feel like maybe you haven’t taken the time to really visit our new website. Our mother is still very much apart of this website.. which it clearly says on our about us page. She has absolutely not retired. Also.. she never liked the little southern lady logo and was THRILLED when we changed it….so sorry you were so attached to it.. it was only on our website about 2 years out of 14. This is a family business and always has been. Glad you enjoy the recipes and have a great day.
Could you use chicken instead of ground beef?
I would think so.
Made it over the weekend! Delicious! This dish is a definite keeper. Thanks!!
Could I sub sour cream for whipping cream?
You can certainly try it. Thanks!
