❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS EASY RECIPE
If you have followed our site for any amount of time, you know we love good food, but we don’t feel it should take hours in the kitchen or 50 different ingredients. Don’t get me wrong, we have some recipes that do take a bit of time but this isn’t one of them.
This crescent roll apple dumpling recipe is only a few ingredients, easy to make and a delicious dessert topped with ice cream. It is a perfect way to enjoy Fall apples! It’s also very budget-friendly.
Crescent Rolls – These come in the tube in the refrigerator section at the grocery. So easy to bake with and so good.
Apples – We used red delicious apples and loved the way this came out. You can use any apples you like.
White and Brown Sugar -The combination of both sugars give this recipe a great flavor.
Butter – You can use salted or unsalted, whichever you prefer. We usually cook with unsalted butter.
Brown Sugar– goes great with cinnamon and pecans.
Pecans – We love pecans with this dish, if you are not a fan, simply leave them out.
Cinnamon – nothing says a great dish like the addition of cinnamon!
You can Mountain Dew or 7up in place of the water. Personally, we thought they were great this way, but I have never had them the other way. So give it a try if you like!
You could also use other fruit such as peaches in this dish.
🍽️HOW TO MAKE
This dish is only a few ingredients and won’t take you long at all to make. Organize all your ingredients first.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash, peel, and core apples. Go ahead and cut into slices. Another positive about this dessert, not a lot of prep work or having to get out a mixer!
Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles, place the apple slice at wide end of each triangle and roll the dough around the apple.
Step 2 – Place in greased 9X13 baking dish and repeat until all triangles are used.
Next add water, brown sugar and white sugar to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Continuing to stir until sugar is dissolved.
Next, pour over the dumplings. then pour the melted butter over the dumplings.
Combine cinnamon, brown sugar, and pecans and sprinkle over dumplings. Cook for 30-35 minutes. Dumplings will be soft on the bottom and crisp on top.
If you can’t find crescent rolls you could easily use premade pie crust or premade pastry dough. You can also make this dish with peaches or other fruit. I think pears would be so good!

I do believe this dish is best served warm right out of the oven, but if you have any leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep for 3-4 days. Just reheat in the microwave or on a baking sheet in the oven.
