❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

Beef and Noodles is comfort food at its best! This easy dish is only 5 ingredients and the flavor is amazing. When the weather turns cooler this beef and noodles recipe is one to put on the menu. Making the beef in the crock pot and using egg noodles keeps this dish super simple.

🍴KEY INGREDIENTS

  • Beef chuck roast
  • Cream of mushroom, undiluted
  • A packet of dry onion soup mix
  • Egg noodles
  • Sour cream to garnish

SWAPS

We have also made this with cream of mushroom that includes garlic in it, which we loved. It is hard to find so it works with either.

🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This is a super simple dish to make since it is made in the crock pot. One thing to remember is all roast times will vary. The last time I made it, it took the roast almost 10 hours to be shreddable. So you need to cook the roast until you can shred it.

  1. How much roasted garlic? I didn’t see it in the ingredient list.

    1. Hi Kathie, we originally made this recipe with “cream of mushroom soup with roasted garlic” which is a specific soup from Campbells, but many of our readers have said it is hard to find. So this dish is fine with just the regular “cream of mushroom soup” If you read the “swaps” in the entry, that is what I am referring too. I just forgot to take it out of the “Directions.” Thank you for bringing to my attention! Either soup works great with this recipe.

  2. This was great I halve the recipe
And it came out just fine I also used stew meat and that was very good
    Thank you girls .5 stars

  3. I’ve made this several times essentially as written (though on the advice of a friend with whom I shared the recipe, I’ve been using beef stew meat (usually 1.5 to 2 pounds…whatever I can find in the market’s meat case) as it’s much leaner than the chuck roasts usually on offer at my store AND I sprinkle the meat with about one half teaspoon of garlic powder before adding the soups as I’ve not been able to locate the cream of mushroom with garlic soup) and loved it every time!!! I’m also a HUGE fan of the Crockpot Chicken and Noodles recipe and, taking a cue from that recipe, yesterday tried pouring a 14.5 ounce can of beef broth over the cream of mushroom soup (which was on top of the dry onion soup mix) before turning the crockpot on to its low setting and letting it go for about 7 hours. I did NOT stir the broth in; just let it sit on top while cooking. At the end of the 7 hours, I removed the beef and then stirred the remaining liquid and dumped in an uncooked 12 ounce package of yolk free egg noodles (I find they hold up well without getting mushy), pushing them down as needed while I was shredding the beef and then added the beef back in on top and letting everything cook and heat for about 20 to 25 minutes. I stirred everything together before serving and was thrilled with the results!!! The noodles soaked up the flavors from the meat and the soups, and every bite was a great mix of tender beef and comforting noodles!
