SOUTHERN CAVIAR OR BLACKEYED PEA DIP

Southern Caviar or Blackeyed Pea Dip - Copy (2)This Southern Caviar or Black-Eyed pea dip is a great to serve when entertaining guests or just anytime.   New Year’s Day games, the Super Bowl, or whenever you need a snack your guests and family will love it.  This dip keeps for days in the refrigerator and you could double the recipe for a large group of people.

Southern caviar is an easy, delicious recipe that is wonderful for any event as an appetizer or snack.

1 can black-eyed peas, drained (I use Glory brand)
1/4 cup diced green or red pepper
1/4 cup onion diced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon cumin
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup salsa or (1 can rotel tomatoes with green chilis, drained)
1/4 cup chopped celery
 
Mix all ingredients, chill for 2 hours, serve with tortilla chips, snack crackers or scoops.   Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can black-eyed peas drained (I use Glory brand)
