EASY PIMENTO CHEESE SPREAD
Pimento cheese spread is easy and delicious.
Pimento cheese spread is one you will make over and over again and there will never be any left. My family loves this spread and I make it whenever I am having guests over to watch football or anytime family comes so we will have something to munch on. Serve with just about any kind of crackers or scoops or whatever you like. You could double the recipe for a large group. This keeps well several days refrigerated. Use your own preferences on spices and hot sauce to make it your own. Southerners love pimento cheese and it is like a staple in the South! You might also like our recipe for shrimp dip.
Pimento cheese spread is great for tailgating or just about any gathering.
3 cups shredded or grated cheddar cheese
1 (4 ounce) jar pimentos, undrained
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 cup mayonnaise (I used Dukes)
5 to 6 drops hot sauce, more or less
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Combine all ingredients and mix with mixer. Makes a little over 3 cups. Enjoy!
Note: If it’s been in the fridge, let it set out a few minutes and stir before serving, the cream cheese does make it thick.
