  1. Are most French onion soup packet mixes the same? I’m in Australia and have Heinz or Campbells as options. Looks similar on the packet.

    1. The Southern Lady says:

I would say those are pretty similar. Either should work fine.

  2. Have you tried this using boneless skinless chicken thighs?
I love that thighs are more tender, but would it cook faster than breasts?

    1. The Southern Lady says:

I haven’t made it with thighs, but I think it would be delicious. It would probably cook in half the time.

  3. Kristine usher says:

When cooked in the slower cooker. Does it come our dry? I have found chicken can be dry in the slower cooker. Any tips on how to keep it for drying out ?

    1. The Southern Lady says:

This recipe has a can of soup, plus a cup of chicken broth and has never come out dry. If you feel it will be dry you can always add more chicken broth.

  4. Kelli Slaughter says:

Can you use frozen chicken or should it be thawed.

    1. The Southern Lady says:

You can use frozen chicken but you may need to adjust the cooking time. 🙂

  5. Could this be done in the oven? What temp and how long? Sounds delicious……

  6. You said in your recipe that you can use fresh mushrooms but drain them. Draining them is confusing to me. Please explain.

    1. The Southern Lady says:

Sorry, it’s been corrected. I meant “you can use canned, but drain them”

    1. The Southern Lady says:

Yes, you can half the recipe. I’ve never tried freezing it.
