BUTTERSCOTCH POTATO CHIP TREATS

Butterscotch Potato Chip Treats The Southern Lady Cooks

These butterscotch potato chip treats couldn’t possibly be easier to put together, and they are DELICIOUS! If you like sweet and salty, you’ll love them. Every time I’ve served these little treats, they have lasted all of two minutes. They require just four ingredients and very little time to prepare. They are the perfect sweet addition to any meal, gathering, potluck, etc.

Butterscotch Potato Chip Treats Ingredients Needed:

Butter

Mini Marshmallows

Butterscotch Chips

Ruffles Potato Chips, crushed

Recipe Notes: I use the Ruffles Potato Chips that have the ridges. They are a more robust and thicker chip. You can use any brand of potato chip you like, but just make sure they have the ridges. They work best in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup of butterscotch chips
  • 6 cups of crushed potato chips

Instructions

  • In a saucepan on top of the oven, slowly melt butter, add marshmallows and butterscotch chips and continue to stir until melted. Fold in potato chips. Pour into a 9X9 greased pan and pat down. Let cool at room temperature 1-2 hours. Cut and enjoy!

Notes

We use Ruffles ridged potato chips. You can use any name brand you like, but make sure they are wavy or ridged. They hold up much better. Crush your chips first and then measure out six cups.

How about some nutrition info. Second request

    1. The Southern Lady says:

Obviously we don’t do nutrition information, there are many apps or websites online that you can enter the ingredients into and get that information. We are southern cooks, that is all.

Can you make ahead & put in fridge.

    1. The Southern Lady says:

I’m sure that would be fine, but I would let them sit out for a bit before serving so they will soften up. Thanks!

  3. Made these treats last night. They are already gone! Delicious and beyond easy! Thank you for all the good recipes. I love this site.5 stars

  4. Silly question but measure chips before crushing?

    1. The Southern Lady says:

No, it is 6 cups of crushed chips, so crush the chips and then measure them.

  5. Is it 6 cups, then crush or 6 cups of crushed chips

    1. The Southern Lady says:

It is six cups of CRUSHED chips. So you would crush your chips and then measure them. Thanks!

  6. Could you use milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of butterscotch? Thanks!

    1. The Southern Lady says:

      You can always try it.
