EASY APPLE BUTTER PIE
This easy apple butter pie is delicious!
If you like apple butter then I think you will love this pie. It’s so easy to put together and it’s absolutely delicious! This pie just screams FALL. It makes the perfect dessert for Thanksgiving or Christmas. If you have family members that aren’t a fan of pumpkin pie, give this one a try!
Easy Apple Butter Pie
1 1/2 cups of apple butter (I always use Musselman’s apple butter)
12 ounces of evaporated milk
3/4 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 teaspoon of allspice
1 (9 inch) pie shell
Combine apple butter, milk, eggs in a bowl and mix well. Add sugar, spices and vanilla and continue to mix. Pour into the pie shell. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes until center is set.
Note: I always use Musselman’s Apple Butter because it’s a thicker apple butter and works well for this pie. I’m sure any apple butter will work but for a pumpkin pie like consistency choose a thicker textured apple butter. This pie is made with apple butter, not applesauce.

I’m going to try it with a graham cracker crust. Anyone else do that?
Most people don’t bake a graham cracker crust.. so be careful for it not burn.

Question: Should I blind bake the crust before adding filling?
We don’t blind bake it. This pie cooks for almost an hour.
Perfect recipe I’ve used twice, I used my homemade apple butter, added 1/4 teaspoon of clove came out perfectly.
Do you use a frozen pie crust? If so, do you pre-bake it?
We use either a homemade crust or a premade one that you roll out. You don’t pre-bake it.
Do you use a traditional or deep dish crust?

This sounds great! Can a sugar substitute be used? Already have sugar in the Apple Butter. Maybe maple syrup?
You can always try it. We only make the recipes the way we post them.

You could use nutmeg, or leave it out and add more cinnamon.
