DIJON ONION CHICKEN WITH GRAVY
Dijon onion chicken and gravy is easy and delicious.
This chicken and gravy is so good. We love the taste of the onions in the gravy and the mustard on the chicken. Makes a great dish to serve to family or guests. You might also like our recipe for garlic chicken with roasted vegetables.
Dijon onion chicken makes a great dish for any occasion or event.
1 (6 ounce) can Crispy Fried Onions
2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg
4 or 5 chicken thighs (These are bone-in thighs with the skin on. Could use chicken pieces of your choice and boneless)
Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish. Pour onions into a large plastic bag and add the flour to the onion. Mash the bag until onions are mostly crumbs and well mixed with the flour. In a bowl whisk the mustard and egg together. Dip chicken pieces into egg mixture and then into crumbs. Place in baking dish and bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 30 – 45 minutes until chicken is done and crispy.
Gravy
Pour drippings from baking dish into a frying pan. Add about 3 tablespoons of flour and mix well with burner on high. Add 1 1/2 cups milk, salt and pepper to taste and bring to a rapid boil. Cook until thickens. Pour over chicken pieces and serve. Enjoy!

Cooking this Now. And it smells soooo Good I seasoned my chicken with salt pepper and Sazón seasoning ( you can find it in the ethnic food isle in local grocery store ) and instead of regular Dijon mustard I use stone ground Dijon mustard( that’s all I had in fridge) and a couple of teaspoons of horseradish i’m making scalloped potatoes on the side and green beans and potatoes to go with it I can’t wait to try I’ll keep you updated
