Apple oatmeal pie is easy and delicious.

Apple Oatmeal Pie

This apple oatmeal pie is a favorite with my family and I make it a lot.  We make this pie for any holiday occasion or just anytime we have extra apples we need to use up.  I have made it with all kinds of apples.

Apple oatmeal pie is an old-fashioned recipe your family will love.

3 eggs, beaten

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup peeled and finely chopped or shredded apples

4 tablespoons butter, melted

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup shredded coconut

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

1 (9 inch) deep dish pie shell, uncooked

Beat eggs in a bowl with a wire whisk or can use mixer.  Mix all remaining ingredients in a large bowl with a spoon. Add eggs and mix with spoon.  Pour into uncooked pie shell. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.  Increase heat to 375 degrees and bake an additional 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and let cool before cutting into slices. Makes 1 deep dish pie. Enjoy!
