Make Your Own Cajun Seasoning

It is so easy to make your own Cajun seasoning mix by just combining several spices you may already have on hand.  Cajun seasoning is great on potatoes, most other vegetables and just about any kind of fish or meat.  Sprinkle it in hamburger before grilling for a taste you will love.  You can double this recipe or make as much Cajun seasoning as you like.  I keep this seasoning made up and on hand in my spice cabinet all the time.  It is so easy to just grab it and add to so many of my recipes for a tasty touch.

Cajun seasoning made at home saves you money and you have it on hand.

2 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes or cayenne (You can add more if you like it hot)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon oregano

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container.  This makes about 1/3 cup of Cajun seasoning.
