SPICED OOEY GOOEY CAKE
This spiced ooey gooey cake is a great twist on a classic. Using a spiced cake mix and adding a sugar cinnamon topping really takes this cake to a new level. Simple to make and perfect to take to any potluck or gathering. If you love cinnamon you will love this delicious cake.
Spiced Ooey Gooey Cake
1 (16.5 ounce) spice cake mix
2 eggs
12 tablespoons butter or 1 1/2 sticks, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Do not make this cake according to the directions on the cake mix box. Mix the cake mix, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract and cinnamon by hand in a mixing bowl. Spray a 9 x 13 cake pan with cooking spray and press the cake mixture into the pan. This makes the bottom layer of the cake.
Topping for cake:
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 egg
3 cups powdered sugar
Cinnamon and Sugar to sprinkle on top
Mix the cream cheese, egg and powdered sugar topping with a mixer and spread over bottom cake layer. Next sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top to make a crust. You can use however much you like as you can see from the photo below I covered the top.
Bake cake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes until top of the cake is golden brown. Ovens vary so definitely check your cake. Cut in squares to serve. Makes 1 cake.
