This Frito Chicken Chili was an experiment that turned out really good! We love Fritos and we love chili but I wanted to try a chicken chili and this was what I came up with and it turned out great! This chili is perfect for a gathering and would be a wonderful addition to any tailgate. It’s definitely comfort food and hits the spot on a cold day! It’s made in the crock pot which makes it even easier!
Frito Chicken Chili Ingredients Needed:
This chili is super versatile, you could easily add Rotel Tomatoes instead of the diced tomatoes to give it a little kick. You could add black beans or kidney beans. You could top it with Doritos instead of Fritos. So many options with this recipe. It reheats really well and we all thought the flavor was great.

Frito Chicken Chili
- 1 lb of boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into smaller pieces
- 1 cup of chunky salsa
- 1 15 ounce can of pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 15 ounce can of chili beans
- 1 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of onion powder
- 3 tablespoons of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- shredded cheese
- sour cream
- Add all ingredients to crock pot.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4.
- I made sure mine cooked long enough that the chicken easily shredded.
- Top each bowl with cheese, sour cream and crushed Fritos.
