These candied walnuts are super easy to make and a wonderful treat during the holiday season. We love to make these to put in our gift bags for friends and family.

If you love nuts you definitely want to try these delicious Southern Candied Pecans. We love to make a variety and this recipe is one of our favorites.

❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This recipe is easy and a great snack or gift. You could also make these for any party to go on an appetizer table. Make different varieties and combine them all together. So versatile and delicious!

🍴KEY INGREDIENTS

  • walnuts
  • brown sugar
  • ground cinnamon 
  • unsalted butter
  • honey
  • Sea salt or regular table salt

SWAPS

You can change out the cinnamon for other spices or use molasses. You can use other nuts and just have fun with this recipe.

🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This dish couldn’t be easier to make, it takes absolutely no time to do and you will love them!

COOKING STEPS

Step 1
Whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter and honey in a bowl. Pour walnuts into bowl and toss until covered with honey and brown sugar mixture.  Add parchment paper to a baking sheet and spread walnuts out on paper.

Step 2
Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20 minutes, stirring after six minutes and again after 12 minutes.  Remove after 20 minutes, stir again and spread walnuts out on paper, sprinkle with salt and let cool. Makes 2 1/2 cups.

WAYS TO ENJOY

Popcorn: These are delicious additions to popcorn; throw in some M&M’s for a real treat!

Ice Cream: These go great on ice cream as a topping, then cover in caramel sauce for a great treat!

Baked Goods: These are delicious in muffins, pancakes, waffles, etc. Adds a great variety to all baked goods!

❓FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I use maple syrup in the place of the honey?

I see no reason why you can’t!

How long do they last?

About 2 weeks in an airtight container.

  2. They were burnt before the 18 minute mark. Had to throw them away.1 star

    1. Why in the world would you just let them burn? You take them out at the 6 minute mark and the 12 minute mark.. so why would you not watch them if they were already dark?
