THYME BISCUITS – 4 Ingredients
Thyme biscuits are so easy to make!
These little thyme biscuits are only 4 ingredients and make great appetizers served with your favorite jams and jellies or country ham. We love how easy they are to make and they taste great. This recipe only takes a few minutes to throw together and you could double the recipe or even triple if you need several for a party or gathering. They keep well for several days in a cool spot and can be reheated in the oven or microwave. They would be delicious served at any event or gathering or on any holiday to friends and family. I keep them in an air-tight container like tupperware or a round tin to keep them fresh if I have leftovers.
Thyme biscuits make a wonderful snack anytime.
1 cup baking mix like Bisquick or Jiffy Mix or make your own. (Try our recipe for making your own biscuit mix)
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
3 tablespoons cold butter
1/3 cup milk or buttermilk (I usually use buttermilk)
Whisk together the baking mix and thyme in a bowl. Cut butter into small pieces or grate it on a hand grater and cut into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and stir with a spoon until batter comes together. Turn out on floured surface, knead several times and cut about 1/2 inch thick with biscuit cutter or small glass. I use a 2 inch cutter. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes until start to brown on top. I always brush my tops with extra melted butter. Makes 8 small biscuits. Enjoy!
