  1. I like to know what ingredients are suppose to go in to make it a darker, richer color of cake. Mine came out very pale in contrast to the pictures. Also since I followed the complete recipe it came out rather dry. Not moist at all. Baked at 350 degrees for less time than was called for.
    Any suggestions??
    Thank you

The ingredients we listed in this recipe are the ingredients that are used to make this cake. As for how dark it comes out, I’ve never given it any thought. You can see from the photos how ours looks. Cooking a cake too long or over mixing the cake batter can cause a cake to be dry. All ovens vary, so you should always watch your cake to know when it is done. I hope this helps you.

  5. I tried to recipe with the extra stick of butter in it it turned out really good but I feel like it should be a little bit more spices and I’m going to add some ground clove in it and the raisins was very tasty in there I I still love the recipe thank you

  6. I was thinking about adding to stick of butter and some raisins I was wondering will that mess up your recipe because your recipe sounds very nice I like the ingredients that are in them other recipes I’ve seen they want to have cloves and I don’t like that your recipe sounds very tasty
