Cranberry Orange Butter Swim Biscuits

❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We love everything about this biscuit recipe! The flavor is wonderful and is the perfect biscuit for Christmas morning. We have had some people tell us they have such a hard time with biscuits, and if that is you.. these are the ones to make! No kneading needed and you can make them using one bowl. They come together easily and you dont have to cut them out or anything. You just need an 8X8 pan! Perfect for a small gathering or you could make two pans! Now.. if you are a fan of homemade biscuits, you must make our Cathead Biscuits, they are amazing.

SWAPS

We love the glaze on these biscuits but you can absolutely leave it off if you like. You could also add a little orange juice to it for an an orange glaze. You can use salted butter and leave the salt out of the recipe.

⭐TIP

We use fresh cranberries in this recipe and the flavor is great. You could probably switch them out for craisins if you needed.

  1. Holy cow! 🙂 These are absolutely delicious! I made them for dinner tonight with scrambled eggs and Potatoes O’Brien and WOW! They were a HUGE hit with my family and me! The flavors are incredible, can taste the cranberries and orange zest and the sweetness was perfect! I did make the glaze (of course!) and topped each serving with one before dinner. As usual, I followed the recipe to the T and they came out PERFECT!
Bravo ladies! And, a HUGE thank you for sharing this!5 stars

    1. YAY!!! So glad you tried these biscuits and loved them! We love them too and need to make them again!

  2. I thought I had buttermilk, but I didn’t; however, I had the buttermilk powder and used that. With the buttermilk powder, you add water to it. This made the mixture very liquidy, so I wasn’t able to form a ball and press it in the pan. With this change I made, I had to bake it much longer. Also, very advisable to put a sheet pan under the baking dish since my butter overflowed into the oven. UGH!
I said all of that to say this is DELICIOUS! It turned out fantastic, despite my bumblings. If I actually do the recipe as written, it will be top notch.5 stars

    1. Oh my.. well I am so thrilled to hear you enjoyed them! You made it work for you and that is all that matters.

  3. Deborah Walser says:

Can we double recipe to a 9 x 13? How long to cook? Thank you

    1. I think you could double it, not sure it would change the baking time as the biscuits should be the same thickness.

  4. Kristie Jones says:

We are on a very low fat program and the stick of melted butter scares me. Could I omit it or perhaps use only 1/2 of it? Or would it be better to incorporate a little of the butter into the dough ?

    1. Hi Kristie, these are “butter swim biscuits.” I would not omit or change the butter, it is a very important ingredient and is primarly what makes these biscuits good.
