CHOCOLATE MONKEY BREAD

Chocolate Monkey Bread is a recipe you’ll make over and over again.

If you are a chocoholic like me, you will love this bread.  I cannot leave it alone once I make it. Serve it with a cup of coffee or with a tall glass of milk and your family and guests will be coming back for more.

Chocolate Monkey Bread

2 (7.5 ounce) cans of Pillsbury Country Style Biscuits

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon cocoa

5 tablespoons butter or margarine

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup walnuts, chopped

Chocolate chips

Generously spray a bundt pan with cooking spray.  In a bowl combine white sugar, cinnamon and cocoa.  Mix well, set aside.  On the stove, melt butter and brown sugar and set aside. Place half the walnuts in the bottom of the bundt pan.  Pat each biscuit out flat with your hand and cut in half.  Place 2 chocolate chips in each half piece of dough and make into a ball.  Roll half the dough balls in the cinnamon mixture, then place in the bundt pan. Sprinkle the rest of the walnuts and half the brown sugar and butter over the first layer of biscuit dough.  Place the rest of the dough balls in the pan and sprinkle any leftover cinnamon mixture over them. Pour the rest of the butter and brown sugar over the second layer.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 45 – 50 minutes.  Let cool in pan 10 – 12 minutes. Turn out onto plate. If any walnuts remain in pan, sprinkle on top. Enjoy!
