APPLESAUCE BANANA BREAD

Applesauce banana bread is one of our favorite banana bread recipes because it is so moist, keeps well for several days in a cool spot or refrigerated, and is wonderful with your morning coffee or as a snack with milk anytime. The recipe can be doubled to make 2 loaves and children love it as well as adults. We love banana bread and make it at least once a week!
Applesauce Banana Bread simple ingredients needed:
All-purpose flour
Baking powder
Baking soda
Salt
Eggs
Applesauce
White granulated sugar
Buttermilk
Bananas
Cooking oil (I use Canola)
You can use sweetened or unsweetened applesauce in this recipe. I used sweetened but either will work fine. You can easily add nuts too. I have made this many times, sometimes I add pecan and sometimes I don’t. This bread is really good and a wonderful way use bananas.
“I just made 2 smaller loaves, will freeze 1. I added chopped walnuts to the batter. Used regular applesauce as that’s what I had on hand. Love your recipes!”

I’ve made this several times. First time because I only had two medium bananas and looked for recipe that substituted some applesauce for one banana. Very good recipe. Nice taste, color and texture. I don’t bother with buttermilk since I’m not really a big baker and so I don’t keep it in the kitchen. Might squeeze in a little lemon with the milk, but not really necessary. THANKS for this nice recipe. John from Olympia, Washington.
Can I make it with one banana and what would I have to adjust or add
I have no way of answering that, we have only made it the way the recipe is written. You can give it a try!
Thank you

I think this sounds wonderful but am wondering if you use sweetened or unsweetened applesauce. Thanks for your help.
I used unsweetened but you could use either, Sue.
I’m writing to ask about the pecans on top of the applesauce banana bread. There’s no mention of them in the recipe.
Can you please let me know how much to use? Are they toasted?
Thanks! It looks so
I just sprinkled some on top, you can use however many you like. I didn’t toast them before hand, just added them and then cooked the bread.
