SAUSAGE AND CREAM CHEESE DIP
This is my daughter, Anne’s favorite recipe. This Sausage and Cream Cheese dip is great to make for your next party or just anytime. Anne and Leigh make it whenever they have friends over to visit. My entire family is addicted to this dip! The sausage and cream cheese make it a wonderful addition to any gathering! You could easily double this recipe for a large group and it keeps well refrigerated for several days.
Sausage and cream cheese dip will quickly become one of your favorite dips to serve family and friends.
1 pound pork sausage (We use Jimmy Dean’s Mild Pork Sausage but you can use hot or mild)
2 (8 ounce) packages Philadelphia cream cheese
2 (10 ounce) cans Ro-tel Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies (regular, mild or hot)
1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic (optional)
Brown sausage, onion and garlic in a skillet and drain. While sausage is cooking put cream cheese and tomatoes in crock pot on high. Add browned sausage to crock pot and let cook until cheese is melted and dip is hot. Serve with nachos, chips, or crackers of your choice. Enjoy!
(Note: Anne does not add the onions and garlic to her recipe. You can do it either way or you could use hamburger to make this. You could also add hot sauce if you want it really hot)
