SOUTHERN APPLE CRISP
Apple crisp is a delicious dessert anytime.

Apple Crisp is one of my favorite dishes in the fall of the year. Only takes about 10 minutes to put together. I seem to always have apples on hand and this is a delicious way to use them up that your family will love. Top with whipped topping or ice cream.
Apple Crisp Ingredients
4 cups apples, peeled and cut into chunks (I have used all kinds of apples in this recipe)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup raisins, Optional
Nuts of your choice (Optional) I use walnuts
Place apples in 9 x 9 inch casserole dish and combine remaining ingredients except butter and either spread over or mix with apples. Slice thin pats of butter over top. Bake in preheated 375 degrees until apples are tender and topping is bubbly. Usually about 40 – 45 minutes. Makes about 8 servings.

YUMMMMM!! This is definitely one of my fall favorites. Yours looks sooo tasty. I just recently made it in the crockpot and it worked so nicely. Thanks for making me drool before I go to bed. =)
I just made my Apple Crisp recipe for 150ppl this past weekend. A few different ingredients and I always double up on the topping. It is one of my favorite fall things to bake and take.
Today is our 20th wedding anniversary, so along with making home-made chicken-n-dumplins…I’m making this for dessert and leaving out the raisins (we both dislike). Love your site Judy.
Oh, Judy…you’ve got my mouth watering again! I’ve just copied this—I think I’m going to use the last of the pears from our trees to make this. It looks so, so good.
