ZUCCHINI FRIES
Zucchini fries are a favorite way to eat this vegetable at my house. Of course, if it is fried, we love it! There is so much you can do with zucchini and these zucchini fries never last long. Zucchini fries make a great side dish with any meal or have a large plate of them as an appetizer. They are great with lots of different dressings and ketchup for dipping. This is a good way to get children to eat this vegetable. They won’t even know it is zucchini if you don’t tell them. Drop them in the deep fryer or make them in a skillet. I usually have enough zucchini to feed an army and this is a good way to use it up out of the garden.
Zucchini Fries
2 to 3 medium-sized zucchini, unpeeled
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 cup oil (I use Canola)
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a spoon except oil. Cut ends off zucchini, cut in half, then in strips like French fries or can cut in slices or chunks. Dip several pieces of zucchini in flour mixture. Have oil very hot. You could use a deep fryer for this but I usually do mine in a skillet because it takes less oil than the fryer. Add zucchini to hot oil and fry on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels. Makes a large plate of fried zucchini. I only used 2 zucchinis in the picture above. Serve. ENJOY!
