RAISIN BRAN COOKIES

Raisin bran cookies are absolutely delicious.

Raisin Bran Cookies - The Southern Lady Cooks

These raisin bran cookies are soft and chewy and one of my very favorite cookies on our site.  These cookies came about when I was trying to think of something to do with some raisin bran cereal I wanted to use.  I am not a big cookie fan but these were irresistible and I ended up eating half of them myself during the day.  I just kept going back to get another one to munch on with my coffee.  Everyone that tried these cookies loved them and wanted more.  There is something about the bran taste along with the raisins and nuts that make these cookies so good.  I think your family will love these and you will make them over and over again.  You might also like our recipe for snickerdoodle cake mix cookies.

Raisin bran cookies will definitely become a favorite.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 stick butter or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup, softened

1 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup milk or buttermilk

1 1/2 cups raisin bran cereal

1 cup chopped walnuts

Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.  In another bowl cream butter, sugar and eggs with mixer.  Add vanilla extract and milk then combine with dry ingredients using mixer.  Fold in bran flakes and nuts with spoon.  Drop by tablespoons on a sprayed cookie sheet.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.  Makes about 2 1/2 dozen depending on size you make your cookies.  Enjoy!

Thank you for your recipe. The cookies taste great and are easy to make. I can’t stop eating them. I added some extra raisins because I like them.5 stars

  2. Roberta Barber says:

Egg or eggs? The ingredients list calls for one egg. The instructions say to add “eggs”.3 stars

  3. Taste was good, but some of the bran stayed hard and I don’t like biting into a soft cookie and getting a hard bran flake. I chopped the nuts up finely for that reason. So when I make again, I will grind up the bran flakes too.4 stars

I made the walnut raisin brand cookies tonight. They are delicious. Have already had two. They are sooo good. A really easy recipe. Thank you so much.5 stars

Thank you for the recipe. I am a teacher and each day we read about whatever national or world celebration day it happens to be. November 15 is National Raisin Bran Cereal Day. I made these cookies to share with my class. I hope they like them as much as I did! I did add 1/4 cup more raisins and chocolate chips…5 stars

  6. Southern lady’s recipe is simple and fool proof. If you want a crunchy crispy cookie, use just a table spoon of batter and let them bake a bit longer. They make a great breakfast cookie!!5 stars
