HONEY TREATS-Bunches of Oats!

Honey Treats made with honey bunches of oats are the perfect snacks when you are craving chocolate.  Just the right amount of peanut butter and chocolate chips to give them a taste that stops the cravings.  I love these things and can make myself sick on them.  I have made these with other cereals but this is one of my favorites. Children will love these honey treats in their lunch boxes or as an afternoon snack.  Honey is one of my favorite products and I like using it in recipes. Try making honey treats to share with friends and family.

3 cups Honey Bunches of Oats with Crispy Almonds
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (I use extra crunchy)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup walnuts or nuts of your choice

Combine cereal, chocolate chips, marshmallows, coconut and nuts in a large mixing bowl.  Combine corn syrup, peanut butter and sugar in a pot on top of the stove.  Bring to a boil and cook about 2 minutes stirring constantly to keep from burning. Remove from stove and pour over cereal mixture.  Mix well with a spoon and press into a sprayed 9 x 9 baking dish.  Let cool and cut into squares.  Makes about 12 squares.

Note:  You can use smooth peanut butter and leave out or add to this recipe ingredients that you like. Enjoy!
