GRILLED HOT DOG SALAD – LIGHT RECIPE

TSLCGrilledHotDogSalad1

This is a very versatile salad, however it is perfect for anyone that is trying to cut back on bread, carbs, or gluten. If you have ever gone to a cookout and feel like you may be missing out, this is the perfect trade off! When we grill here at home, I like to add some extra hot dogs to the grill so that I can have this for salads during the week. Super easy to prepare!

1 package of Oscar Mayer Angus Select Hot Dogs – 8 hot dogs
1 container of Spring Mix Lettuce ( can use whatever lettuce you like)
dill Pickles
kraut
onion
mustard

I used 2 grilled hot dogs per salad and throw in all the other ingredients and top with mustard. Mustard is very low cal and perfect dressing. Enjoy this salad on those warm nights with your friends and family! You can easily do this with hamburgers too.

  1. I never thought to try as a salad, but have used a crisp lettuce, such as romain or Iceburg lettuce kept as whole leaves to use as a bun. It’s great for hotdogs or a left over bit of home cooked Chinese food. My fav has to be using lettuce as a wrap for left over spicy Mongolian beef. I purposely make extra just to have as lunch in the week. Think I will be doing the same now for a hotdog salad, thank you!
