FRESH AVOCADO CHORIZO DIP – GLUTEN FREE

This refreshing Avocado Chorizo dip is perfect for Cinco De Mayo and we love it with plantain chips. This dip is served cold and only has a few ingredients but a lot of flavor. Perfect solution for low carb and gluten free!

Avocado Chorizo Dip

Ingredients for Avocado Chorizo Dip-Gluten Free

4 ripe avocados
1 package of Johnsonville Ground Chorizo Sausage (click here for image)
1/4 cup of red onion
2 limes
dash of garlic powder to taste

Directions

Prepare sausage, drain off grease and chill in fridge for an hour. Next, in a large bowl, add your avocados, onion and garlic powder. Smash avocados until they are a good consistency, just a little chunky. Add chilled sausage and top with lime juice from 2 limes. Mix all together and serve. In the picture I hadn’t mixed it yet. I served this dip with Plantain Chips, which I found at Walmart and Kroger sells them too. They are a GREAT alternative to tortilla chips. Enjoy!!

*Note: I also put the avocados in the fridge for a few hours before just to make sure the dip would be cold, because avocados turn quickly once opened.
