Ham cheese waffles are so good for breakfast. My family loves these waffles because you get the meat and cheese in the waffle.

Make these waffles with sausage or bacon for a variation to the recipe.  They will keep in the refrigerator for several days and can be reheated in the toaster, microwave or oven.  You could make a double batch and freeze one batch for another time.  We like these ham cheese waffles with powdered sugar sprinkled on top and maple syrup.  I can eat one for a snack during the day.  You might also like to check out our recipe for buttermilk sweet tater pancakes.

Ingredients for these great ham cheese waffles.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon black pepper

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

2 eggs

2 tablespoons cooking oil

3/4 cup milk

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (can you whatever cheese you like)

1/2 cup chopped, cooked ham

Whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt,  black pepper and baking powder in a bowl.   Stir in eggs, cooking oil, milk, Swiss cheese and chopped, cooked ham.  Drop about 1/4 cup batter onto waffle iron and cook according to directions for your iron.  Makes 7 to 8 waffles.  Enjoy!

  1. I was trying to figure out what to make my husband for dinner (he’s on night work and doesn’t like eating a heavy dinner on work nights). I remembered your email announcing this new recipe, and realized I had all the ingredients on hand. I had yet to use my new waffle iron, but broke it out tonight to make these for dinner–they were a hit. My husband really enjoyed something new on the menu. Thanks! 🙂
