Homemade Alfredo sauce is a wonderful sauce over just about any pasta.

This homemade Alfredo sauce recipe is one you will turn to over and over again.  This sauce keeps well for several days in the fridge.  You can make more or less or just enough for one meal.  My family thinks anytime you can make it at home it is just naturally better and it has no additives or ingredients that are not good for you.  We all love pasta of any kind, especially the menfolk in our family.  If your family likes pasta as much as we do, you might like to check out our recipe for spaghetti with meat sauce.

Homemade Alfredo sauce will become a favorite for pasta!

1 stick or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup butter

2 cups heavy whipping cream

8 ounces cream cheese

1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese

Combine butter, whipping cream and cream cheese in a saucepan on top of the stove cooking and stirring over medium heat until melted.  Add remaining ingredients and stir until sauce thickens and all the cheese is melted and smooth.  Takes about 3 minutes.  Serve over your favorite pasta. I like to sprinkle some fresh or dried basil over the pasta before serving.   Makes about 3 1/2 cups of Alfredo sauce.  Enjoy!

  1. Is this good to refrigerate the unused portion? I know some dairy combos to not stay blended well if not used at one time (leaving no “left overs”). TIA

  3. Can you use the Parmesan Cheese in a green can or the other that you can buy in a container that’s shredded? This sounds really good! Thank you for your help. 🙂

      I just buy an 8 ounce block of parmesan cheese and grate it or you can use the already shredded in a bag, Tess. I have not tried this with the one in the green can.
