HOMEMADE FOOD GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS
It’s Christmas Time! For me, that means making homemade food gifts for my coworkers, neighbors, parties, friends and family. I love to make candies and cookies to give away as presents. I really think it means more when you take the time to make something. Plus, I know how much people love to eat sweets around Christmas! If you’re like me, then you’ll love this list of homemade food gifts.
Martha Washington Candy – This candy is incredible and such a wonderful holiday treat. It’s a combination of pecans, coconut and cherries. Add this one to your list!
Old Fashioned Date Balls – This is an old recipe that your grandmother may have made and it’s still a classic today. We love the brown sugar flavor with the pecans.
Old Fashioned Clove Cookies – The flavor of these cookies are exactly what you want for the holiday season. We love cloves and these cookies do not disappoint.
Maple Pecan Fudge – This fudge is a new addition to our website and it may be our favorite fudge. The maple flavor is wonderful and who doesn’t love maple and pecan.
Sugar Cookies – It wouldn’t be Christmas without Sugar Cookies! So fun to make with friends and family and also make a great gift for the neighbors.
Christmas Cool Whip Cookies – These are only a few ingredients and they are super versatile. You can make them red and green or any color you like! Great for your coworkers.
Tea Cakes – These are an old fashioned cookie and one my grandmother made very holiday season. She had such cute little cookie cutters and would put the cookies in a cute tin with a ribbon.
Kentucky Bourbon Balls – These are loved by many and they are not hard to make! If you are not a fan of bourbon you can make them with apple juice. We have made them both way and we honestly love them with apple juice.
Old Fashioned Potato Candy – This is a depression era recipe and it’s fantastic. This potato candy is one of our all time favorite recipes and we even added a video of how to make it!
Southern Pecan Pralines – A southern classic and always a winner! These can be a little pricey since pecans are not cheap but they are worth it and great for the holiday season!
Microwave Peanut Brittle – This is a recipe we love to make during Christmas. You can use peanuts, cashews, pecans or any nut you desire. It’s very versatile and always a great gift. We have a video showing how to make this peanut brittle.
Five Minute Fudge – This is a basic fudge recipe you can make it chocolate, peanut butter, butterscotch or any flavor you prefer. We love them all!
Easy Christmas Divinity – This is an old fashioned recipe that has been made easier by using the microwave. This recipe was in the hold Sharp Carousel Microwave Cookbook and it’s one of our most popular holiday recipes.
I don’t like the flavor of shortening. Do you think a traditional ganache would work on the peanut butter balls?
You can always try it, I explain in the recipe why we use shortening. This is the only way we have ever made them.
Have you mailed a Jam cake yet? I would be very interested! Also my husband said his Mpm would make extra icing and would make candy out of that.. We have lost all our parents and we dont bake! Im a country cook but dessert is over my head.. please let me know if you could do this and how much it would cost.
We don’t make jam cakes to mail or for anyone else and I have never tried mailing one, Danita. We are a recipe site only. We have a recipe on our site for penuche fudge which is made like the jam cake frosting. You can find it by typing the name in the search box. We only post recipes for you to make your own. The jam cake recipe is really simple to make and anyone can make it.
Does anyone have a recipe for cheese cookies…. I used to see them around Christmas time but never found the recipe… They had a pecan on top and were so good… Thanks
Do you think the Crunchy Peanut Butter Balls would be OK to ship as long as weather is cool?
