SAUSAGE BLUE CHEESE PASTRY WITH RASPBERRY PRESERVES
Sausage blue cheese pastry is easy and delicious.
Sausage Blue Cheese Pastry with Raspberry Preserves will make the perfect appetizer for the holidays. If you plan to have a party or gathering these are a must! You can even cut them into 4’s and place a tooth pick in the middle for easy eating. The combination of these great flavors is wonderful and the added color makes them “pop” this time of year. Sausage blue cheese pastry only has 4 ingredients!
1 lb of sausage
1 5 oz container of blue cheese crumbles
2 packages of puff pastry sheets
1 jar of raspberry preserves
Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat till browned and cooked through. Drain off all grease. Place sausage and blue cheese crumbles in a bowl and mix up. Next roll out puff pastry sheet on a cookie sheet. Cut in 2 inch squares. Place a teaspoon full of sausage and cheese on a pastry. Next, place a dab of raspberry preserves on top. Now, I gathered the pastry edges up and closed in the middle to hold in the mixture. It will come apart in the oven but it keeps everything in place. You can leave it open if you choose. I also have made these on biscuits. I just took a can of the Pillsbury Southern Recipe biscuits and pulled each biscuit apart to make two. Then put the mixture on those and baked. Either way is good. These are so good hot out of the oven. The mixture of the three ingredients is so different but addictive! I promise, you can’t eat just one. I like to make these around Christmas because the raspberry preserves really makes them look festive. I have served these with brunch and as an appetizer. Enjoy!
*Bake them according to the directions of the pastry.
