CHINESE BUFFET DONUTS – 3 Ingredients

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Chinese buffet donuts are so easy to make and so good with your morning coffee.Chinese Buffet Donuts-The Southern Lady CooksThis recipe is great for breakfast or for snacks or just anytime you want something sweet.  Children as well as adults love these little donuts and when I get them off a Chinese buffet, I cannot get enough of them.  I decided to make my own!  I made some regular donuts with just white granulated sugar and half the can I made with cinnamon sugar.  Everyone in my family loves cinnamon and they are delicious either way.  The original sugar donuts are only 3 ingredients. Be sure to try these for any event and you won’t have any left.  You might also like to try out our recipe for cinnamon horns made with bugles. They are great for snacking.

Chinese buffet donuts will become a quick favorite to make for children and grandchildren.

1 (7.5) ounce can buttermilk biscuits

White granulated sugar (about 1/4 cup)

Cooking oil (I used Canola and enough to make about 1/2 inch in a small pot)

Heat oil between medium and high until hot.  Drop in biscuits one at a time for about 2 seconds on each side.  Remove to paper towels and dip in sugar.  Makes 12 donuts.

Note:  I add 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the sugar to make the cinnamon donuts. You can add more or less cinnamon to suit your taste.
