Pork chops are always a favorite with my family when we decide to grill.  We love to baste them with this sauce.   I make it up right before we get ready to cook. You can use this sauce on just about any kind of meat.  Barbecued pork chops are great for Memorial Day weekend or any holiday when the weather is warm.  We like chops better barbecued than just about any other way you “fix” them.  You can double or triple the sauce recipe to cover the amount of meat you plan on cooking.  This sauce recipe is quick and easy, takes only a few ingredients that you probably already have in your spice cabinet,  and keeps well in the fridge for several days.  I love having it on hand in case we decide at the last minute to do some grilling. There is nothing we enjoy more than a beautiful Southern summer evening with a warm breeze on your face cooking on the grill and sipping sweet tea while visiting with family and friends on the deck or patio and the great smells coming from the grill.

4 to 6 medium pork chops
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
Mix all ingredients together except chops in a small bowl.  Beat with a wire whisk until mixed well.   Baste chops with sauce and grill basting several times while cooking.

  2. Thank you! I have made this twice, already, and we love it!! The only change I make is to salt and pepper the meat before I add the glaze. The first time I didn’t do that and it was a tad bland. But I love the way the flavors all work together. Put it on bone-in chops tonight and we were licking the bones! A winner for sure.

  3. This sauce looks wonderful, Judy! We’re not pork chop eaters, but I know we’d love it with grilled chicken—thank you.

  4. Happy 4th, Judy! Those chops look wonderful. Yum! I hope you have a fun day. I’m sure you’ll have lots of great food for your meal today 🙂
