- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Mix together flours, baking powder, salt, sugar and soda. Cut in shortening.
Add buttermilk and mix with a spoon until dough is formed. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.
Spray baking sheet and cook in preheated 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 12 biscuits.
