In a skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp then remove with a slotted spoon. Place bacon on paper towels to drain grease. Add apple and onion to the skillet with the bacon drippings and saute till tender. Stir in remaining ingredients (minus the bacon) and bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer.
Cook until cabbage is to a desired consistency. We like our cabbage with a little bit of crisp so we cook it for about 15 minutes. Once done, stir in chopped bacon and serve. Makes 6 servings.
