Ingredients

  • 4 large onions peeled and chopped (I use the white sweet onions)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or could use Miracle Whip
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Pinch black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Coat the bottom of skillet or pan with the olive oil. Add the chopped onions and cook until caramelized over medium low heat for at least 30 minutes until a rich brown color but don’t burn them. Drain if needed. Combine mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, sour cream, garlic powder or minced garlic, pepper and salt. Mix well with spoon. Add the onions and mix well. Put in fridge for several hours or overnight. Makes about 3 cups.
