Easy Pork and Gravy

This is easy comfort food and is fabulous over rice, pasta, biscuits, mashed potatoes, baked potatoes, etc.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound pork stew meat pork sausage, smoked pork sausage or pork tenderloin, (cut in bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 large onion cut in rings
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 10.5 ounce can cream of mushroom soup (do not dilute)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste Opt.

Instructions

  • In a skillet on top of the stove brown the meat and onion rings in the cooking oil. In a bowl whisk together the water, onion soup mix, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Cover and cook on medium low for 30 to 35 minutes. Add salt and additional pepper to taste.
