Enough milk to make spreadable or to make think enough to drizzle over raisin bars.
Instructions
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, allspice and cloves in a bowl.
Add raisins to 1 cup of water and heat to boiling on top of the stove. Remove and stir in butter and sugar till melted. (Can put back on stove on warm if you needed to melt butter and sugar)
Stir into flour mixture with a spoon. Add the egg and continue stirring until all ingredients are mixed. Make sure the flour mixture is not hot when you stir in the egg.
Fold in the nuts or you can sprinkle on top once in baking pan.
Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray. Spread mixture in pan.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove and let cool. Add topping below.
Instructions for Topping:
Combine ingredients, mix well with spoon. Drizzle or spread over bars.
Notes
Makes 18 to 20 bars depending on size you cut them.
