Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

This bread is a family favorite and I'm positive it will become a favorite of your family too.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick butter or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup melted
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raisins

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 or 4 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside
  • In a large bowl, with a spoon, stir together the butter, sugar, sour cream, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and stir till all ingredients are wet. Fold in the raisins. Spray a 9 x 5 bread pan with cooking spray and add the mixture to the pan.

Swirl Instructions

  • Whisk together and spread over the bread in the pan. Take a regular kitchen knife and swirl into the dough until it is totally.
  • Bake bread in preheated 350 degree oven for 55 to 60 minutes until center tests done. Remove from pan after 10 minutes. Let cool completely.

Glaze Instructions

  • Stir together and spread on bread.
