Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Pumpkin Bread

Bread
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup 100% pumpkin Not the pumpkin pie mix
- 1/2 cup butter or 1 stick or 8 tablespoons melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sour cream
Filling
- 1/2 of an 8 ounce bar cream cheese or 4 ounces softened
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup nuts pecans or walnuts, Optional
Frosting for Bread
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened (the other half of your cream cheese used above in the filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 stick or 4 tablespoons butter softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg Optional
- 1/2 cup nuts pecans or walnuts, Optional
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves until well mixed. Add eggs, pumpkin, melted butter, vanilla and sour cream. Mix well with spoon.
Using a mixer combine cream cheese, egg and sugar. Mix well until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips. Swirl into your bread batter.
Fold in nuts.
Pour batter into a sprayed 9 x 5 bread pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven 65 to 70 minutes until center tests done as ovens vary. Let cool and frost with cream cheese frosting.
Frosting for Bread Instructions
Beat ingredients together with mixer and spread on cooled bread. Sprinkle on nuts.
