Butterscotch Sauce

- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 stick butter or 4 tablespoons
- 2 tablespoons cream or evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine sugar and flour in a pan on top of the stove. Add boiling water and salt. Whisk ingredients together and bring to a boil for about 5 minutes or until desired thickness. Stir constantly. Remove from heat, add butter, milk and vanilla extract. Stir to melt butter.
