Servings: 6 servings
- 1 roll puff pastry dough
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoon heavy cream
For the Icing
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 5 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out pastry dough. Cut the dough into 12 square blocks. In a small bowl beat one egg and whisk in the 2 tablespoons of heavy cream to create an egg wash.
In a separate bowl combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, melted butter and vanilla extract. It will resemble wet sand.
With a pastry brush, you will brush the egg wash over 6 of the blocks. Next add about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling in the center of the egg washed blocks.
Place another block on each pastry and crimp the edges with a fork. Then egg wash the top block and crimped edges. Take a fork and poke 3-4 holes in the top of each pastry.
Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool.
