2pie crustsWe used frozen pie crusts but could make your own
2 to 3cupsfrozen or fresh blackberries
1/3cupwhite granulated sugar
1eggbeaten
Instructions
Roll out pie crusts. Use a five inch round bowl or whatever you have to cut out the dough for the pies.
Add 5 or six blackberries to each round piece of dough. Sprinkle one teaspoon sugar on berries.
Fold dough over and crimp edges with a fork to seal. Brush tops of pies with egg yoke. Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Sprinkle more sugar on top of each pie or could sprinkle on some ground ginger or cinnamon.
Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 20 minutes or until brown on top. Makes 10 hand pies.
Notes
We added a glaze to the pies after they cooled. You could use other fruits to make these such as apples, cherries, blueberries, etc. Pie filling should work, too.
