Black Walnut Pound Cake

Equipment

  • 1 Bundt Pan

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 2 sticks of butter softened or 1 cup
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract or flavoring
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup of black walnut kernels

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or 4 tablespoons softened
  • 4 ounces of cream cheese softened
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • Milk

Instructions

Cake Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
  • Drop into a mixing bowl or an electric mixer in the order shown. Beat on high speed for 5 minutes.
  • Pour into bundt pan and bake for 60-75 minutes or until done.

Frosting Instructions:

  • Beat together butter and cheese with mixer. Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar and continue mixing until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency.
  • Add milk start at a tablespoon until the right consistency to pour over cake. If you want to frost the whole cake see the notes section.

Notes

To frost the whole cake you will need this recipe for cream cheese frosting. You won't need the milk to thin the frosting since you will not be pouring it.
